Paleface will perform at OJ All Day Downstairs Saturday May 24, 10:00pm

Featuring Paleface himself and drummer Monica "Mo" Samalot, they've been charming audiences all over the US with their fun-lovin tunes and soulful energy. Paleface started writing songs after spending some time in NYC with friend Daniel Johnston. He was soon discovered by Danny Fields (Stooges,Ramones,MC5) in 1990 at a LES open mic. Paleface became the first "Antifolk" artist to get signed to major labels (Polydor, Sire). This was followed by college radio hits and national tours with the likes of The Breeders and Billy Bragg. During a Breeders tour Paleface collapsed and nearly died from alcohol...After a long recovery, PF returned to NYC's Antifolk scene and befriended & shared the stage with a new breed of artists (The Moldy Peaches, Jeff Lewis, The BabySkins & Langhorne Slim, among many others). In the past few years, Paleface's songwriting, instrumentation and vocals have been featured on two of The Avett Brothers records. He is currently on a neverending tour as a dynamic duo with Mo, in support of their new record "A Different Story".
